While we believe that the experience of rail travel is unparalleled in fun, excitement, and memorability, we also realize that certain unfortunate and unlucky passengers wind up with a rail travel experience that is not so memorable! Featured here are travelogues of train trips which ended up to be generally bad. Before reading on, please don't let these memoirs scare you or discourage you from traveling by train! They are not a representative sample of how train travel usually goes, but rather examples of the 1 in 100 trips that are easily forgettable. Just because major pile-ups happen from time to time on interstate highways, that doesn't mean people will be compelled to use only surface streets.
