A lot of Amtrak trains go through Jack London Square: 8 San Joaquins, 8 Capitols, 2 Coast Starlights and the California Zephyr 8 times a week. There is also quite a bit of freight traffic. If you spend any time at all in Jack London Square, you are likely to see several Amtrak trains and freight trains going through.
The photos in this slide show were taken in the mid-1990's by Steve Grande on his Amtrak travels throughout the nation. The size of the photos is purposely smaller as disk space was expensive and download speeds were slower at that time.
