The below images are from the very first webcam that TrainWeb set up. At the bottom of the page are some of the earliest images. We did not save any of the webcam images during the first year of operation in 1996. The first images you see below are from the Metrolink Christmas Train at the Fullerton Station in 1997. At that time we used a huge VHS camera mounted on a tall tripod and aimed it out the window of the TrainWeb office that at that time was located directly above the Amtrak Ticket Office in Fullerton, California. In addition to recording to VHS tape, the RCA output jacks of the camera were connected to a computer which could capture frames on demand from the video stream.
