When traveling out of town within 100 to 400 mile radius, I usually rent an automobile . If it takes two to twelve hours to reach the work site, my rate is $100.00, plus expenses. If I can arrive at the work site and perform work on the same day, only the daily rate will apply. I usually don't use contracts but, I will supply one if requested.

When returning to my home office from an assignment and the entire day is used for travel, I will charge $100.00, plus expenses.

At least one day on a day for day basis of field work will be guaranteed.

When working in my office, the rate will be $50.00 per hour. The maximum charge for 8 hours will be $400.00 or negotiated cost for the complete job.

When away from home for one week or longer to provide training or other consulting services, the daily rate will be based on a seven day work cycle. If I am not used for the sixth or seventh day, I will be paid $100.00 per day plus expenses. After three weeks at the work site (except foreign travel), I will expect you to pay for my transportation to return to San Antonio and back to the work site after a (negotiated) time for rest at my home.

The form of transportation to the work site will be at your discretion. The travel agent that I deal with procures the most inexpensive air coach fare that is available when I have enough lead time. We should have a minimum of two weeks to arrange for the least expensive transportation.

I use my private automobile in the San Antonio area. The rate is $0.37 per mile plus time involved. Mileage to and from the airport will be charged $0.37 per mile plus parking. Alternatively, taxi fare between my home and the airport is about $24.00 each way.

The cost of booklets and handouts for classes or speaking engagements will be negotiated. For the air brake course there are 4 booklets that cost $60.00 per man. The basic diesel locomotive book is $20.00 per book. Fundamentals of Electricity sells for $15.00 each. Handouts will depend on what you request. Questionnaires will have to be made for your company and yours only. I will be paid the hourly rate to do this. Books that I buy from suppliers I will charge 20% above their prices for the time, taxes, and postage that is charged to me. The use of video tapes in my collection for training will be rented for $5.00 each time used. The slide projector is $10.00 per day when used. The video camera is $10.00 per day when used, plus $25.00 per hour used. My Nikon still 35mm camera is $10.00 a day plus $1.00 for each slide or photograph taken plus cost of developing and replacement of the film.

For training assignments I will ask that you supply me with a copy of your rule book, timetable, all special instructions and any other instructions that are given to your operating crews or any other employees that I will be training. After receiving these materials, I will ask for one day to prepare each course you want me to provide. For most of my classes, I will need a meeting room with comfortable chairs and tables for courses longer than 4 hours duration. I will also need a blackboard or contempo board, computer monitor or monitors. When there are more than 15 men in the class, I will need a multi media projector, the type that can be rented in most larger cities.

Due to my good reputation in this business. I reserve the right to terminate my services on your property for unsafe procedures brought to your attention by me and not acted on immediatly by the people who employ me.

A computerized Air brake course is available for $1500.00 total for two days, my daily rate is included in the price. The books are $60.00 per man for as many people you can fit in a room. No one has this computerized course and I quarantee the student will know how the air brake works after the two days. Performing brake tests and train handling is a part of this course. See it to believe it!

I also have the Poor Mans locomotive simulator in a laptop computer. Let your engineers run this to see their reaction time and if they live up to the speed rules. It takes one hour to train the student on how to use the computer then it is $50.00 an hour after this start up time. My daily rate will be charged plus the operation of the simulator. The locomotive simulators in the big cities charge $400.00 an hour!

Train Dispatchers: What do they do? I have a Dispatchers Simulator in my computer that shows the student how to run trains, put them in sidings (if they're not too long), and scores the student on time performance.

I have many track plans to show the student. It takes one hour to teach the student how to use the computer and then it is $30.00 an hour plus my daily rate.

Speaking engagements for railroad subjects will carry a rate of $400.00 for a maximum of four hours plus all expenses.

I will endeavor to keep your expenses to a minimum and I will make it worth your while to use my services.
