A Point Of Info:
Banner Ads On TrainWeb
TrainWeb.com/info/pointofinfo.html

Please take a brief moment to read this important information about the clickable banner ads that appear on TrainWeb.

If you see a railroad related ad that interests you, please do click on it the first time that you see it. There is a good chance you won't see that banner ad again for another month, if ever!

There are two types of ads that run throughout the TrainWeb network of websites. The most common ads are backfill from Google AdSense. You will see those ads over and over again. These are ads often from major national firms that have made major advertising purchases from Google.

Most of the railroad related ads have been purchased directly from TrainWeb. Those ads you will probably only see one time. So if you are interested in what they are promoting, please do click on that banner ad when you see it! You might never see it again.

There are more than 400,000 individual train enthusiasts that visit the TrainWeb network of rail related websites each month. That appears to be more than 4 times the number of people who subscribe to Trains Magazine! Those visitors view more than 1.2 million web pages on our network each month.

The ad revenue both from Google AdSense and from our own direct ad sales is what keeps TrainWeb in business. Our revenue depends not just on how many pages are visited at TrainWeb, but also on how many times our visitors click on the ads that interest them. So ANY AD that interests you, please do click on it. That does help support TrainWeb and allows us to continue to offer all the content and features that we provide free of cost to our visitors. But please ONLY click on ads that truly interest you. Do not click on them just to generate click-throughs for TrainWeb as we are also penalized for random meaningless repeated click-throughs. If an ad interests you, do click on it. And if you see the same ad again later and wish to review the information, don't hesitate to click on it again.

Why do the ads sold directly by TrainWeb usually only appear one time per month? We sell ads at the rate of $5 for 1000 ad impressions. That is an extremely reasonable rate for such targeted advertising. Since few direct advertisers buy enough advertising to reach all 400,000 monthly visitors to TrainWeb, we set their ads to appear only once per visitor. Thus, if they spend $100 on advertising, then only 20,000 of the 400,000 individual train enthusiasts that visit the TrainWeb network will see the ad over a one month period.

That is why each time you see a new railroad related ad that you haven't seen before, that will probably be the only time you will see it that month and might not ever see it again. If you are curious about what they are offering, please do click on that ad the first time you see it.

Your continuing support of the TrainWeb network of websites is always greatly appreciated!
