There are two ex-Amtrak Mail Handling Cars (MHC) right next to the hotel. One houses the entire collection of the Amtrak Historical Society. Where does milk come from? Find the answer here where thousands of cows take their turn on the carousel milking machine -- 360 cows per hour! Visitors can view the entire milking process from the observation room at the Tour Center. Also see the lineup of antique cars -- from a 1906 Model S to the 2007 Shelby Cobra. Visit the 50's cafe or the Ozark Steakhouse.
Take your time to wander through the hotel and the grounds. The hotel is a mini railroad museum in and of itself with all the artifacts! Visit the restored La Plata Amtrak Depot.
